Up Second Best Private University in Mexico: QS World University Rankink

Universidad Panamericana stood out in the 2023 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings, i.e., an international ranking system prepared by a British consultancy specializing in education. UP was recognized as the second-best private university in Mexico and the fourth at the national level among both public and private institutions, in addition to ranking it within the top 30 universities in Latin America in general and in the top 10 in terms of the student-professor ratio measure.

QS considers six evaluation criteria:

  • Academic reputation
  • Teacher/student ratio
  • Research citations by professor
  • Reputation among employers
  • International teachers
  • International students

These results are largely due to the academic prestige of UP professors, who are internationally known, to the influence of its researchers, members of Mexico’s National Research System (SNI for its initials in Spanish), to the student-professor ratio, which allows for the personalized attention that characterizes the institution, and to the solid reputation that UP alumni have with employers.

It is worth mentioning that these accomplishments are doubly valuable considering that Universidad Panamericana is a young university with much lower enrollment numbers compared to other universities in Mexico and the world.

A humanistic understanding

Universidad Panamericana is characterized by its focus on the person. Thus, it promoted a wellness ecosystem through which attention is given to students’ needs, including emotional support, comprehensive development and university life.

To achieve this goal, every student is assigned an advisor, who accompanies them during their time at the university to give them the support they may need.

Founded in 1967, Universidad Panamericana’s work is founded on three fundamental pillars: teaching, research and cultural dissemination. In little more than 50 years, it has become an institution with global influence and recognition for its academic quality, ethical instruction and Christian worldview.
