Constitutional and conventional justice is key to strengthening democracy and the rule of law. In response to this need, the School of Law at Universidad Panamericana has promoted the launching of Ratio Decidendi.
It is a scientific journal that promotes critical analysis and research, with the aim of contributing to the development of these important areas of law.
Directed by Dr. Juan Manuel Acuña, editorial director and research professor of the faculty, this publication is well known since it focuses on the generation of knowledge and its contribution to the development of legal institutions both in Mexico and abroad.
The editorial team, composed of Celia Mizrahi Nedvedovich, as editorial secretary, and Isabel Olea Merino editorial design, works to consolidate this journal as a benchmark in the dissemination of legal knowledge.
An international vision for a historic moment
With an academic community established over two decades ago, Ratio Decidendi emerges as a platform to generate valuable contributions from Universidad Panamericana to the international legal community.
According to Dr. Acuña, “the relevance of constitutional justice for democratic institutions is our driver to contribute to scientific knowledge from the editorial field, at an optimal moment to do it”.
This journal stands out from others launched some time ago by the School of Law, such as Perspectiva Jurídica and Ars Iuris, for being an open access publication, completely digital and with a continuous publication model, the first of its kind in Mexico. These features, together with its commitment to achieve indexing in international platforms such as Scopus in the near future, are a milestone in the dissemination of legal knowledge.
Impact on the Legal and Academic Community
The journal aims to disseminate high quality research to improve constitutional and conventional justice institutions, fostering a fruitful dialogue among international scholars. It also seeks to be a valuable resource for evaluating and analyzing the performance of constitutional justice in Mexico and other countries.
The project reflects the values of Universidad Panamericana, guided by integrity, honesty and responsibility. “It is our goal to contribute to the search for truth and to orient legal reflection towards human dignity and the common good,” Dr. Acuña emphasizes.
A Forum Open to Scholars
The editorial team welcomes scholars, researchers and practitioners to participate in Ratio Decidendi as authors, peer reviewers and readers. It also highlights the relevance of using published work as a basis for future research.
Ratio Decidendi is presented as a key tool to strengthen Universidad Panamericana’s international projection, consolidating its position as a reference in the global legal arena.
“We hope it will become a publication that will make the Universidad Panamericana community proud and that they will feel it as a project that summons and involves all of us,” concludes Dr. Acuña.
