A Professional Career Crafted at Universidad Panamericana
In search of professional growth and dedication to her family, Dr. Julieta found the opportunity to move to the city of Aguascalientes and become Head of the School Services Department at Universidad Panamericana, position she held for about 12 years.
She was the general coordinator of FIMPES Self-study—Federation of Mexican Private Higher Education Institutions—where she developed, implemented and followed up on the institutional evaluation strategy of the FIMPES system.
Her pathway continued as Academic Secretary for the School of Economics and Business Administration. Shortly after, she became Research Secretary for the same School, where she was in charge of designing the strategy for the development of research and coordinating the activities of the researchers in the area, as well as verifying the fulfillment of institutional goals in the scientific production of said School.
Here she was also in charge of the project “Learning outcomes and CACECA accreditation.” After eight years of activities in the School of Business, and due to the restructuring of the School of Pedagogy and Psychology, Dr. Julieta applied to move to this area.
“Thanks to the trust of Professor Paola Barba, I was able to transfer to this School where I am in charge of the Academic Secretariat. I am very happy with this and aim to retire from this place when it is time for my retirement,” she says.
Passionate About Education
Such a career has undoubtedly left a legacy of responsibility, discipline and passion for education.
“I have always made a living out of my profession, so I take care of it, keep myself up to date and develop it with respect. I believe it is important to recognize that the achievements obtained are always oriented to the improvement of the University and particularly of the profession I have chosen as a way of life“, she proudly shares.
Her extensive teaching experience in higher education includes teaching of subjects such as International Educational Policies, Curriculum Design, Pedagogical Management in Educational Centers and Educational Legislation, Institutional Evaluation, Writing and Written Expression Workshop, Research Workshop, among others, which are taught in the Bachelor’s Degree in Pedagogy, undergraduate degrees in the business area and in the Master’s Degree in Management and Direction of Educational Centers.
“Always love what you do, get updated and build a professional identity that will help you to have colleagues with whom you carry out activities that contribute to our areas of knowledge, who discover that research is an extremely important field and that it does not necessarily have to be boring or tedious,” she suggests.
As a piece of advice, Dr. Julieta invites the campus community to find ways to enter the labor field before graduating; she also advises them to value their work, their training and learn to charge a fair fee for their services, since work implies a series of efforts that are very valuable.
