Panamericana Obtains its Fourth Patent in the Field of Aeronautics

Universidad Panamericana marked another milestone on its pathway towards technological development and innovation with the achievement of its fourth patent. Known as Flight Stabilization System of a Single-Person Cockpit in Autonomous Flight Aircraft, this invention promises to transform the aeronautical industry and the transportation of cargo and passengers.

This achievement is an integrated part of the institutional strategy of Innovation and Transfer led by the Corporate Direction of Innovation and Transfer, at the General Vice Rector’s Office for Research.

Dr. Juan Alberto González Piñón, in his role within the Panamericana Intellectual Property Management Center, highlights the purpose of supporting and facilitating researchers in the management of inventions resulting from their intellectual work.

The mechatronic system, registered under National Patent Application MX/a/2020/002887 and patented on March 12, 2024, is a state-of-the-art solution for autonomous flight aircraft, guaranteeing stability during all phases of flight to ensure the safety and comfort of crew and cargo.

Stabilization is achieved by precise control of engine speed and wing position using high-precision servomotors. This innovation is the result of the collaborative effort of prominent members of the UP community, including Research Professor Dr. Fidencio Tapia Rodríguez, from the School of Engineering, and alumni Elías González Horn, along with other external researchers.

The success of this patent underscores Panamericana’s commitment to excellence and technological progress, as well as setting a paramount precedent for future research and development in the aeronautics industry. The University continues its leadership in research and innovation, contributing significantly to national and international scientific and technological progress.
